About the Author
Deborah Smith is the author of such well-loved novels as "A Place to Call Home, Blue Willow," and "Miracle." She lives in Georgia.
Debra Spina Dixon is a native of Northern California, who has been creating award-winning illustrations for eleven years. Her colorful work has appeared in numerous national publications and advertising campaigns. Currently, she lives in beautiful Portland, Oregon, with her husband, two children, and faithful dog, Remi.
As a child I made up fantasy lives for my paper dolls, never knowing that I would use these same creative skills later as a writer. I only knew that I became those dolls and lived their lives. Later came amateur stage shows for the neighborhood children to perform, my first Nancy Drew mystery, a one-act play, and finally a musical performed by high school students on an auditorium stage. From the Indian tepee that Santa brought when I was a ten-year-old, to the living room I've recently converted into my office, I'm still stretching the boundaries of my imagination.
After twenty years of working together, my husband and I sold our small-animal veterinary practice. Now he consults and practices part-time while I write full-time. Our three daughters are married, and we have grandchildren who always want Gran to tell them a story. And Gran always complies. --Sandra Chastain

A Gentle Deborah Smith Series.
By Shari Morris
Though I like Deborah Smith's later series books (Crossroads Cafe, for one) better, the Mossy Creek series is homey and comfortable with the characters it develops. It has less literary conflict than most of Smith's novels and has no clear protagonists/antagonists, but is a gentle summer read nevertheless. Must read ALL the Mossy Creek series if you are a Smith fan!

Fine MOSSY CREEK tale
By A Customer
If the Lovin' Spoonful had been in the Georgia village of Mossy Creek rather than Greenwich Village, they would know that hot time, summer in the mountains means plenty of fun, ole southern style. The townsfolk look for a quiet uneventful season, but also know their enemy in slimy Bigelow still remains on the prowl. Meanwhile the librarian pushes the Police Chief into bluffing an abusive parent while the Mayor leads by example applying common sense to seemingly difficult problems. Much of the townsfolk meet eating dessert at the diner, but along with fans will find hot fun in the summertime here.
The third Mossy Creek tale is a series of vignettes written by a virtual whose who of the irons maidens of the south (more talented than steel magnolias). The contributions differ in size while providing a slice of life in a small remote Georgia mountain town. Each story builds up on the previous contribution so that the audience receives an anthology that uses the best elements of a novel and that of a short story into a tremendous collection. SUMMER IN MOSSY CREEK holds its own with its superb predecessors. Fans of the series already know that the first two books flow smoothly; the third tale shares in common with the previous duo a southern comfort smoothness.
